The special economic zone of Iskandar Malaysia grew out of a 2005 government initiative to developer a zone would be economically, socially and developmentally beneficial to Malaysia.
Iskandar Malaysia is modeled after the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone, it is envisaged to capitalize on its current synergies with Singapore as it aims to complement each other as an economic hub.
Various Singaporean institutions including Capitaland, Mapletree, Ascendas, Gleneagles etc have made commitments to Iskandar and this economic zone is fast gathering momentum in attractive investments from across the world.
